Tutorial: How to Swap Tokens on QuickSwap

What is QuickSwap?

QuickSwap is a DEX (Decentralized Exchange) that runs on the Polygon Network. It’s a fork of Uniswap. By running on a layer 2 solution like Polygon, QuickSwap achieves low fees and faster transaction times.

To learn more about the Polygon Network and Bridging funds from the Ethereum Mainnet to Polygon, check out this guide on using the Polygon Network for the first time.

Using QuickSwap

Step 1: Switch to Matic Network

  • Click on the “Switch to Matic” button at the top right. This will then display a Metamask Pop-Up asking you to approve switching networks.

  • Click on the “Switch Network” button. This will then display another Metamask Pop-up asking you to approve connecting your wallet to QuickSwap.

  • Once you connect your wallet, the top right should be similar to the image below.

Step 2: Select tokens to swap.

  • For this example, I’ve chosen to swap AAVE to ETH. If this is the first time you’re swapping a specific token on QuickSwap, you have to allow QuickSwap to use your token.

  • Click on the Approve button and sign the transaction. This step requires MATIC for gas.

  • Once the token is approved, the Swap button is enabled.

  • Click on the Swap button and then Confirm the Swap again. You will need to sign a transaction using your wallet. This step also requires MATIC for gas.

  • Once the transaction is processed, you should see the swapped token in your wallet.

Congratulations! You have now swapped tokens on QuickSwap.
